The new building of the first two semi-submersible ships has started to be built, they will be of a new generation to ship special cargo that will belong to Cosco with a capacity of
about 50.000 tons. For this reason a celebration was held at the Shipyard in Guangzhou.
Cosco have signed a contract with Guangzhou Shipyard International Company to build two new semi-submersible ships. The first ship will be delivered in 2010.
The two new ships will have 216.3 meters long, a beam of 43, and a draft of 13. The ship will have a capacity to submerge 26 meters.
