Cosco begins extension of the capacity of its line Asia-Mediterranean with the scale of “Chuan He”

The “M/V Chuan He “ arrived last December 29 at the port of Barcelona, where its captain received a commemorative plaque from the port authority to be his first call in the port.  

Cosco will replace the vessels of service AMX for other ones with more capacity like “ Chuan He “. 

Ref. vessel, was working in TCB Terminal, where 167x20’gp and 271x40’gp were discharged. The loading cargo was: 127x20gp + 374x40gp. 

M/v Chuan He has the capacity of 5250 teus and has replaced m/v Empress Heaven, in service between Asia and the Mediterranean, which has 3500 teus capacity. 


The intention of Cosco is to replace during this year, vessels of 3500 teus of capacity of this line by others larger to cope with the increased demand for transport between Asia and the Mediterranean area.


This service is currently covered by 7 vessels. Five of them belong to Cosco and the remaining two to CMA CGM.


The line makes stop in the ports of Barcelona, Valencia, Port Said, Singapore, Shekou, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Qingdao, Ashdod, Piraeus, Naples and Genoa.
